WHAT IS IYENGAR YOGA

Iyengar Yoga was developed by B.K.S Iyengar (1918-2014 Pune, India). He devoted his whole life to make yoga accessable to anyone who sought it out. The practice of Iyengar yoga carries the depth and ancient wisdom of this art form through the approach that Mr. Iyengar developed. The way he integrated the philosophy of yoga into the pursuit of asana practice is unique. As one sets off in the field of yoga, penetrating the physical form of the body with ones consciousness, the exploration will eventually led you to a much more deeper expansion then just the one of the body. As you plunge into a practice of Iyengar yoga it will give you strength, flexibility and stamina. It will also expand your consciousness as you expand, stretch and elongate the body. Iyengar yoga is for everyone and all levels of practitioners. One can practice for the purpose to be free from back pain or to be free in the spirit and soul connected to the spirit of the universe.

Iyengar yoga can be used as a means to go through emotional turbulence. It will help to balance the inner organs and nerve system that in turn affects you on a deeper level psychologically. In times of stress, both emotionally and physically, Iyengar yoga will support you to stay grounded.

"Do not think of yourself as a small, compressed, suffering thing. Think of yourself as graceful and expanding, no matter how unlikely it may seem at the time"

B. K. S. Iyengar
